Dustin recieved All-District honors all four years at Lake Dallas High School, with 1st team honors both Junior and Senior years. Dustin went to Tyler Junior College to play, but ended shortly do to an injury. Dustin served in the military from 2006-2010 and has been giving hitting and catching lessons since 2004.
