The Dallas Patriots had another great year of representation with the Major League Draft as former and current players were drafted.
2nd round pick and 2010 All-American Jordan Swagerty (Arizona State University) is a familiar name around Dallas Patriots circles as he both played for the Patriots and spends time helping at the Winter Camps each year. Jordan was the 75th pick overall being selected in the 2nd round by the St. Louis Cardinals. Jordan sent to a message to Logan Stout saying, “My years with the Dallas Patriots were vital in the person and baseball player that I have become and I owe a lot to the Patriots!”
Bobby Duran(Texas Tech), a Patriot teammate of Jordan Swagerty with the Patriots was selected in the 4th round by the Houston Astros.
Other notables include the following:
Rhett Varner a 6th round draft pick by the Florida Marlins
Joe Staley an 8th round draft pick by the San Francisco Giants
Burch Smith a 20th round draft pick by the Cleveland Indians
